Cherish this while it lasts!!

I realize that one day my boys will not want to even be in the same room with each other, let alone be snuggling in bed together. I know that they will have all out fist fights, and call each other bad names. I know they will compete for things and even hate each other at times....but for now-I want to savor this moment::

Vote!!!

Today in Logan's class they talked about voting. They even voted on something themselves. So I asked him what he learned and this is what he told me. "Mommy-I don't want you to go vote, I want you to stay home and just let Daddy do it!" "We are voting for a new president-we NEED a new president!" "Who are you picking Mommy-the brown one or the blond skin one?" I could not stop laughing!!!!!! Well at least he's learning something!! Oh-the future of America!!

Just a cute little tidbit

Whenever Alex hurts himself-he has to run to me, and make me kiss whatever he hurt. Its so sweet-it works like magic! So today I had my stitches taken out from my surgery and I had a bandaid covering it. He saw my bandaid and I told him it was my boo-boo. He took the bandaid off and leaned down and gently kissed my wrist. I thought that was so sweet of him-it brought tears to my eyes!!!

My friend Brandi

When I first had Alex, and was on maternity leave, my parents were up to help me. One day we went up to the playground, Alex was only a few weeks old. I was playing with Logan and my Dad was sitting on the bench with Alex. I looked over and saw him talking to a girl with a baby. I figured he knew her somehow and kept playing. When I finally came over, he told me that this girl, Brandi, had a baby boy that was only 5 days younger then Alex and she just moved here a few months ago. I was polite and said hi, and we talked about how our kids were so close in age. Well then my Dad tells me, you should give her your phone number and email and maybe you guys could get together. Kind of on the spot, but I figured what the heck-I really didn't think we would ever actually get together again.

Well about a week later, I was going to a Mommy's group and thought maybe Brandi would want to come. She did and by the end of the night, we had really clicked. I started emailing her frequently and we even started going to an exercise class together. She eventually became friends with my friends and we would go to dinners, play dates and girls weekends.

Now she is pregnant with her second boy, due in November. We were sitting in the same park yesterday that we met, and were watching out little boys play together, and I said-remember when we met here 2 1/2 years ago-look at us now!! I am forever grateful that my Dad "volunteered" my friendship to Brandi and her son Brendan-I know we will always be good friends!!!

Some Fall pics

I just took these today, since it was a nice fall day-I just love the colors of fall-and how the leaves look. Not to much of a fan of the cold weather-anything under 65 degress is too cold for me!

Tagged!

Well I've been tagged by my friend Belinda, and have to list 7 things that you didn't know about me. I have thought about this all day, because I really don't think my life is all that exciting-but here goes:

1) I am blind as a bat-my vision is at -9.0 and -8.50, which is really bad. I started wearing glasses in the 4th grade, and then contacts in middle school, and have ever since. Without my contacts or glasses, everything is fuzzy and I can't see more then 2 inches from my face. When I get enough money-I'm definitely getting Lasik eye surgery!

2) I have never been anywhere in the US besides the East coast. I've been to every state from New York to Florida, but never west. I did go to Turkes and Caico's island for my honeymoon and Jamaica, but that's it.

3) I am a crumb freak-I can't stand seeing crumbs on the counter top or table. I can have dirty dishes everywhere-but if there is a crumb-I have to clean it up!

4) My husband is a twin, so obviously his birthday is the same as his brothers, but his brothers wife, has the same birthday as me--freaky!!!

5) I have only owned blue or green cars-and seem to rotate-first a blue Grand Am, then green civic, then a blue civic, and now a green Envoy--guess my next car will have to be blue!

6) I play the piano-not very much anymore, but took lessons for years as a child-doing recitals, and competitions-but was never good playing in front of people. I have an ear for music and can read music as well. I hoped that one of my boys will have an interest in playing the piano-I would love to teach them.

7) I have had over 20 kidney stones since I was 16 years old. I have had pretty much at least one a year, have had to have laser lithotripsy twice, and had them during both my pregnancies. They are NOT fun-and I will probably have them for the rest of my life.

So there you have it-some cooky facts about me-I would tag other people, but everyone on my blog has already been tagged!!

Day at the zoo

Sunday me and the kids, and my MIL and niece and nephew went to the Baltimore Zoo. It was such a beautiful day and it was nice to be outside. Alex was so amazed to see all the animals and Logan just loved talking to them.

Uh-Oh!!!!!

This morning I heard Alex in his room around 8:30 and he was playing So I kept sleeping. Around 9:00 I got up and went to check on him and this is what I found:

Alex had gotten up on his changing table and smeared Desitin all over the place!! And then he was trying to clean it up with the wipes!! It took ALOT of soap to get it all off of him-I guess he was paying me back for sleeping in!!

Bunkoween

Friday night I went over my friend Laura's house for Bunko-or Bunkoween as she called it. We were to all dress up in our Halloween costumes. It was so much fun-some of the costumes were hilarious!! It was good to get out and have some fun!

Surgery

Well Thursday I had Carpal Tunnel surgery, which was long overdue. Typing all day long for the past 13 years or so has finally caught up with me and my right hand was killing me. So after a year of cortisone treatments, I finally decided to have the surgery. It wasn;t too bad, a very quick procedure, and I was under anesthesia the whole time. But now my hand really hurts and I can only use my left hand, which isn't easy. Trying to do the simple every day tasks are nearly impossible. But day by day it should get better and in the long run it will be so worth it!!!

Cherry Crest Farms

We went to Cherry Crest Farms in PA, a really neat place for the kids to go and have some autumn fun!! We went last year for the first time and had so much fun, so we decided to make it a yearly tradition. It was such a beautiful day, and Logan and Alex got to be there with all their cousins. We spent the entire day there, feeding the animals, riding pedal cars, bouncing on the giant pillow, playing in the hay mazes, and picking pumpkins. The Strasburg Railroad runs right through there too, so a big train came by every 30 mintues and Alex loved it!! It was a ton of fun, and I can't wait to go back next year!!

Shop Therapy

This is what I call it, whenever I am feeling down, or overwhelmed, I go shopping-in particular-at Kohls. Kohls is my all time favorite store to shop for clothes, for me and the kids. I usually never get any department store cards, but I have a Kohls account, because of the incredible savings you can get. I get coupons all the time for either 15%, 20% or 30% if I use my card. Then they are always having a big sale, with late night power hours to shop-which is perfect for me!! Like today-I really needed to get the boys some winter PJ's and I had a 30% off coupon-which everyone knows-you do NOT let go to waste. It was only good for a few days, so after I dropped of Alex at daycare I went shopping. Not only did I get Alex 3 Carter's blanket sleepers, but also 2 long sleeve shirts, and for Logan I got 2 sets of fall pajamas, 2 long sleeve shirts, and for me-2 long sleeve shirts and 2 pairs of very comfortable fleece lounge pants. And gues what I spent....................$102.00!!!! Can you believe that-for all that stuff-and it was just over $100!! I love to look at my reciept and see that my 30% saved me $41.70, and had nothing been on sale-I would have spent well over $300! Ahhhhhhh-makes me feel good-I got new clothes AND a great deal!!!
