Happy Easter!!

Well it was another cold one, but the Easter Bunny still managed to hide the eggs outside for the kids to find. The boys loved everything in their easter baskets, Logan especially loved his chocolate bunny and Alex loved his Jay Jay the jet plane bed set. Then we went over Aunt Carols for the traditional basket and egg hunt. There is just something about Easter that is so much more enjoyable then Christmas for me. I guess its just less hectic and it means that warmer weather will be here soon!!!

Great Wolf Lodge

This past weekend me and the boys, along with my MIL and FIL, and 2 nephews went to The Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos. Its a huge hotel with an indoor waterpark, and lots of other fun things for kids. Logan was so excited to go stay in a hotel, he has never been. I knew the kids would love the waterpark and I was right. They spent hours there and it was nice, we could go for awhile, dry off, go back to the room to rest and then eat and go back to the waterpark. Logan's favorite part was the wave pool and the slides, and Alex loved watching the big bucket dump water and the slides. They loved the room, it had a nice little fireplace and 2 bedrooms. The only bad part was the sleeping-or should I say, the lack there of! Alex has never slept in a room with other people, and has never slept with me in bed. So he thought it was play time-all night long! Then Logan and my 4 year old nephew were all wound up, and were either playing or fighting. I did NOT enjoy that part-but other then that the trip was alot of fun and we hope to go back again.

HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY LOGAN!!

Today is Logan's birthday-he is 6 years old! His birthday is always and extra special day for me because it is the anniversary of the day that I became a mother. I love being Logan's mother, even though at times it can wear me down! But I wouldn't trade it for the world. I have such a special bond with Logan and even though he has been through a lot in the last few years, I have such high hopes for him and can't wait to see him grow and become something wonderful!

I took Logan to school so I could bring his class donuts and when he walked in the class as his friends shouted surprise-Happy Birthday! Then the teacher made him a birthday crown which he wore all day and they sung to him. Then when he got home I had balloons and a big banner for him and gave him some of his presents. His favorite gift was the portable DVD player that he has been asking for, so he can watch TV in the car. His birthday party is on Saturday at the Kids First Swim Club. Several of his friends from school are coming as well as family. I'm sure he will have a blast!!

Snow Tubing!!!

Well I've never been snow tubing, or skiing for that matter, so when I heard about this place that was less then an hour away from me where it was nothing but snow tubing, it seemed like ther perfect place to go. I knew it wouldn't be good to take Alex, but Logan was so excited!! We went with my brother Rick and his girlfriend Laura. After a very interesting ride there (the GPS decided to avoid ALL major roads and took us through corn fields and farms!), we got there around 1:00. We immediately got in line with our tubes to go up the pulley track, which hooks to your tube and drags you up the hill. Logan was a little scared at first, as was I, but as soon as we got to the top and got ready, the man did not give us any time to second guess!! We zoomed down the hill together and loved it!!! We ended up spending most of the day there, trying the different lanes and even the kiddie slope. I would love to go back again with more people, and stay the night at the hotel there-it was such a fun day!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

The boys both had Valentine's Day parties at school on Friday-so they already had lots of candy and cards. But I always get them something special. Logan really wanted the movie Space Buddies, so I got him that, and a big Hershey Kiss.

Alex got a light up globe and a small box of chocolates, along with the big Hershey Kiss too.

Then we went with all the cousins swimming and then got ice cream from Dairy Queen. It was a very "sweet" day!!

Busy Busy Busy!!

Wow I feel like the last few weeks have been crazy! Mainly with my job-some of the group assignments have changed and that means that I've had to go into the office more to help out. Now normally I wouldn't mind this-but I tell you-I don't know how you people do it!! Trying to get 2 kids up, fed breakfast, dressed and out the door in time to get to work, is impossible!!! I guess I'm just spoiled, but I've never really had a time restraint in the mornings-except to get Logan on the bus, which can be a challenge in itself! Plus the driving to and from work, takes time away from my work, and I wind up having to work late at night. Hopefully this will slow down some-this week shouldn't be too bad.

But my update is that Justin is finally back to work, he is going to try to go full time this week for the first time in a year. He's been doing part time, but feels that he is up to doing all day. He is still recovering from the surgery pain, but he thinks the pain pump is working on his legs and is looking forward to starting the weaning process off his oral meds.

Logan has his good and bad days-he is doing well in school, but there are days that he is just off-and has a bad day. I'm hoping that with the psychological testing they are doing there, he will finally get a diagnosis that we can work with.

Alex is good-although I've decided to have a speech evaluation done on him. He is just not talking like he should be by this age. He repeats anything, but its hard to understand and he still babbles alot, and does not communicate well. We'll see what they say, I hope they can help him-he has a lot to say-he just can't quite get it all out!!!

Well that's about it-I'm so behind on all my personal stuff-but gotta make money!!!

Day with Logan

Logan had off school on Monday the 26th, so I decided to take off work and spend the day with him. We started off dropping Alex off at daycare and then had a wonderful breakfast at his favorite place-The Waffle House. Then we went to the Wolfgang Chocolate Factory for a tour. It was really neat-small and old fashioned. The workers do most of the stuff by hand and it was interesting to see how it all gets put together. They gave us some yummy free samples and then we headed to McDonald's for lunch. I really enjoy these days with Logan, being able to take him places and spend one on one time with him!
